Home owner’s insurance versus home warranty – What’s the difference?
In a nutshell:
Homeowners insurance provides coverage for damage or loss to your home and personal belongings from fire, lighting, windstorms, hail, explosions, smoke, vandalism and theft. It also protects against many types of liability claims and lawsuits brought by others for accidental bodily injury or damage to their property while in your home.
A Home Warranty Service Agreement provides coverage for the repair and/or replacement of eligible systems and appliances when failures occur as the result of normal wear and tear, subject to agreement limitations of course.
